Description:
Two best friends. One ancient book. Countless adventures.
In the tranquil town of Everbrook, MI, Naomi Williams and Luke Miller, two ordinary 11-year-olds, stumble upon a life-altering discovery in an abandoned chapel—a mysterious glowing book titled The Chronicles of Light. This is no ordinary book; it chronicles the heroic deeds of Christian figures across history, yet puzzlingly, many of its pages remain blank.
Chosen to complete these stories, Naomi and Luke find themselves transported across time and space. Each page turn sends them to new eras where legendary battles between light and darkness unfold. With Naomi’s unwavering faith and Luke’s daring spirit, the duo faces sinister forces that threaten to extinguish hope and faith worldwide.
As their journey progresses, the stakes climb higher, and the adventures grow more perilous. Naomi and Luke must rely on their friendship and the light within themselves to confront the darkness. Through their trials, they learn that their actions can change history, but it is their inner light that is key to triumphing over evil.

Ch. 2
-The magic book found in the ruins of an old chapel begins to light up in the darkness. The world fades away, and Naomi and Luke are in a cloud of golden light. The light swirls around them, and they are taken to a different world/ time period.
Ch. 3
-In the new time period, Naomi notes that “fear hung in the air like a thick fog”.
-A man (Marcio) pulls them into an alleyway and tells them they must hide. He states that the Roman soldiers are searching for Christians, and they could be taken to the dungeons if found.
-Marcio explains that many of his people have been taken, despite their efforts to hide, some to the “dungeons, tortured, or worse”.
Ch. 5
-Naomi and Luke come across a child in the underground catacombs. He brings them to his family, who’ve all been hiding from the Roman soldiers because they are followers of Christ. Thinking about their boldness, “Naomi felt a chill run down her spine. The gravity of the situation sank in—these people were risking their lives, their children’s lives, for their faith”.
Ch. 7
-Naomi and Luke get sent to another time period again, this time they end up standing in front of Joan of Arc. Joan is struggling, her faith is wavering, and she mentions to Naomi that she isn’t hearing God lately and feels unworthy of her calling. Naomi encourages her.
-Naomi reflects on her conversation with Joan, she “couldn’t help but wonder-would she be brave enough to do the same? Would she be brave enough to follow God’s will, even if it meant walking into danger?”.
Ch. 8
-Naomi gets somber thinking about Joan. Having studied her in school, she knows Joan’s life “ended in tragedy-captured by her enemies, put on trial for heresy, and burned at the stake”. They reflect on her bravery and ability to continue to walk in God's plan for her life, even “if it meant sacrificing her life”.
Ch. 10
-Naomi and Luke get sent back in time again, this time to ancient Alexandria. They meet a girl named Sophia, who is trying to save Christian scrolls and manuscripts from being burned by Roman soldiers.
The book ends with biblical reflections, giving verses to back the characters’ journey. The author says they “serve as spiritual anchors, connecting the adventures of Naomi and Luke to the greater narrative of God’s unchanging love and light. Let these scriptures deepen your understanding of the journey and remind you that, no matter the darkness faced, the light of faith will always prevail”.
